flexplate for 4R70W & 351W?

I need to find a flex plate to go between my 351W and a 4R70W. From what I can find this means that the flex plate must have 164 teeth, 28oz imballance and a 11 3/8 bolt circle for the torque converter.

Interestingly, I have noticed applications for C6, C4 and AOD that list all of these requirements except they don't tell you what the bolt circle is for the torque converter. I am also a little nervous putting a flex plate for a different transmission application that meets all the rest of the requirements without someone I trust telleing me it's good.

I know I am not the first to do this so please chime in. The closest I have found are the AOD/C4 flex plates like this: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/FMS-M-6375-G302/
Notice they don't list the bolt circle diameter for the torque converter.

I have been running B&M 50237 on my 351/4R70W combo since '02 with no problems at all. Everything fit perfect.

Just pulled the number off the original reciept dated 1/4/02 and back then it was $63.95 from Summit Racing. I also used ARP 100-2901 flexplate bolts that set me back $7.95
No telling what the current price is today. OK someone can look it up, so you can tell what it is. I am just too lazy to do it tonight.

Would a stock Ford flexplate have a part # or specs stamped into it anywhere? Reason I ask is that I have a factory 94 Lightning flexplate that I could give you a part # from. Also, I'd like to find out if I have the correct flexplate for my 351, AOD without counting it tooth by tooth.

In the early 80's there were a few factory 351W AOD combonations. You could look that up and find a Ford part number if you really wanted one.

Broncobowsher, I was hopeing that you would chime in. So from the responses I see here it looks like the AOD torque converter has the same bolt circle as the AODE/4R70W. That is what I thought, I just wanted to make sure.

The Ford Racing flex plate is $58 from Summit:

I was just concerned about the lack of AODE or 4R70W being listed as part of the application. The details even say that the application ends in 1982 which is befor the begining of the life cycle of the AODE/4R70W.

i just put that Ford racing flexplate in my 302/4R70W. Haven't fired it up yet but everything fit well and I know the starter works with it and it spins smooth.

The only gotcha I found was some flexplate bolts with too much of a shoulder that wouldn't thread in all the way. I purchase a die for the bolts and ran the threads all the way to the head and that worked.

You may be running flywheel bolts instead of flexplate bolts. Flywheel bolts are longer because a flywheel is thicker.
