Frame brake line/fuel line clips removal

Please see pic attached. I know this is a silly questions, but prior to mangling one of these, I thought I would ask how one removes them. It does not appear to be a screw or a nut. Some sort of snap on fastner?

This is the bracket that holds the brake/fuel line on the frame going towards the rear of the truck. I am removing the bracket to replace the brake lines.

Thanks,

Matt

Best way if you want to keep them is to pry it up a little and slide the line out, they are a plastic fastener and will brake if you try to remove them

Broncosam, I've seen the aftermarket steel ones from TBP, but I am assuming they attached to the frame is a different manner than these plastic ones. I am pretty sure I can jimmy the brake lines under the bottom of the fastner. Thanks for the tip.

wonder how easy it would be to drill an access hole on the opposite side of the frame and see if you can punch the pin out from the back side?
Always heard you were supposed to punch the pin out from the front, into the frame, but if that thing is steel, it looks like that would not be easy.

But if it's plastic, it's probably meant to be a one-use pin that gets punched into the frame.
Been so long since I messed with one and decided not to remove it after all, that I forget how they're put together. I ended up doing what spap did and pried them up.

I recently removed all of mine. Every one of them broke. The clips from BC are beautiful or there are some suitable alternatives to be found in the summit catalog.

If you want to try to keep the plastic ones I used a punch a little smaller than the center hole, then used machine screws to remount them. I now have the ones from BC and they are sweet!!

I used a small punch, tap the center pin out, it will end up inside the frame. after the pin is out the clip will pull out. I was able to recover the pins by having someone blow air through the frame and catching the pins in a bucket. I think you could make the pins with some kind of plastic dowel. It's about 1/8 inch. also 70's ford pickups use the same clips. they are easier to harvest from a wrecking yard because the pickup frame is open on the back side, not boxed like a bronco.

Update. Was able to use a flat head and pry them up slightly and slide the new brake lines underneath. None broke. Small victories!
