Front Marker Light Buckets

I bought new buckets from Tom's. Two concerns, how do I get the old ones out, and the buckets I bought are two-wire, looks like the old ones have three wires going into the bucket? I cant get the old ones out. Are they to just press thru, could they be corroded and stuck? Or do they need to turn to come out? I have the housing unbolted from the grill, but can't get these suckers to come out. I could cut the wires, and get them over to a better work area, but kind of want to see the wiring intact before getting in too far. New bucket shown, two-wire.

Thank you

I looked at the sockets on mine and i couldn't figure it out either. I am pretty sure they snap in place, but decided to wait rather than break my working ones LoL

They were not originally meant to come out. That type of replacement socket is a "retrofit" fix for old worn out ones.
It's a way to save money over buying an entire new assembly, but it's a bit of a pain. You either need to solder the new one in, epoxy it (easiest?) or figure out another way (setscrew maybe?)

You will also need to come up with a ground wire. That's the third wire most likely, as these double contact sockets for the front markers are intended to use bulbs with a high and a low filament. The ground was usually handled by the bucket screwing into the grille, so I'd be interested in what you find out on that third wire. I only remember seeing 2-wire setups myself.

Grounding the socket might take some fiddling too. Just make sure to ground the socket directly, as opposed to the bucket/reflector if you decide to use epoxy to hold it in. If you do, there won't be a reliable electrical connection between the two components.
