the lower mounts are the regular mounts on the radius arms, closest of the 2 to the axle. the top is a basic shock hoop with a bar going over the engine.
i run a 12in travel 2.5diameter sway-away coilover, with 250lb over 350lb springs. compression valve shims are 0.015 and rebound valve shims are 0.010.
you can set up the height however you want, what hasworked best for me is having ride height be midpoint of the travel, 6in up and 7in down.
if your only going to run coilover and no air bump, i would stiffer valving, mine is real soft. and if your not using all the shock travel at high speed, and heat isnt a problem, you could run a 2in diameter like the rock crawl guys.
mines about 3.5 to 4in lift.

Thanks for the details 68Ford those are some specifics that i needed. At least its a starting point for my coilover research. As soon as i get a chance i need to take my truck to get the front and rear weights. It weighed 3460# overall after the initial build, just didnt think to weigh each end. Do you have any pics of the bar that connects your upper hoops?

Desertthrasher...I knew you were out there lurking somewhere. When i was in the research phase of building this truck i read alot of your posts and i think even pm'd you some specific questions. It was about 3 of you cleveland guys that really helped this build become a reality!!! The initial build took 1 1/2 years.
I saw the pics of the dent in the oilpan and yes i'm running a rear sump M pan from a 79 bronco. I guess i just underestimated how hard and how fast i would enter the pits. I notice after each season my body mounts all have a slight rearward pitch from launching off the line.

Thanks to all you guys, this sight has always been able to answer my questions and give me new ideas.
