I am trying to deturmin wheather I have a problem with my fuel gauge or the sending unit. Currently when I fill the tank the gauge will only read a little over 3/4 full. After driving less than 100 miles it reads around 1/4 tank. I have a 23 gal tank.Dose anyone know how many ohms the sending unit should read?

Dont remember right off hand but Im sure by the time I look it up someone will post the answer.
But - if who ever installed the pickup tube/float assembly didn't bend the float arm then you won't get an accurate reading anyway. I had to take out a lot of the bend in mine.

Mine's pretty similar to that - I have a BC 23 gallon tank. I messed around with the float/sending unit quite a bit to try and get it right. Prior to that I had a NWMP tank and I remember fiddling with the back of the gauge to make it a little better.

I'm eventually going to try one of the Classic Instruments sending units and see if they work any better.
