I didn't know you were planning on downgrading to an AFB. Those are generally unfriendly to Ford engines, with the inlet on the right rear of the carb when Ford fuel lines and pump are on the front left of the engine. I looked hard for an AFB made for a '61 Lincoln that had the inlet on the left rear and a kick down lever on the throttle shaft only to find out the OE 2100 was a far better carb. By then I had a 4bbl intake, so I got a 4100 with 480 CFM. So I'm back where I started, except with a 4bbl that only helps marginally at the highest RPM. I've learned to resist the herd mentality.
