Fuel lines set up stock tanks electric pump

Best way to run fuel lines from stock tanks with electric pump to carburetor. Have two vent lines off stock rear which I’m sure would have run to canisters. Any help or recommendations appreciated.

Do you already have the pump mounted? Or is part of your question just looking for the best overall layout of the whole system?

The two vent lines in the tank, if yours is a 70 through 75 model, don’t both have to go to a canister.
Do you still have the stock charcoal canister up front, and the recovery tank behind the panel next to the driver’s shoulder?

I don’t have the canisters. I have broken lines going up behind the driver seat and over to the passenger side. Out of the rear main there is the fill tube, a vent tube and the two hard lines that ran along the fender to right behind the driver seat. I don’t have an electric fuel pump yet, not sure where the best spot to place it would be.

Best way to keep the gas fumes down then, would be to update it to the 76/77 style and plumb it yourself.
Get rid of the inside tank and tubes from behind the driver seat the next time you have the panel off, and sell it to someone doing a restoration.

You can get the later model plastic charcoal canisters from multiple sources, and mount it up high on your firewall.
Run one line from one of the vent fittings on your main tank, up to the new charcoal canister. Plug the other one off or just T the two into each other.
Then on the other half of the charcoal canister run a line into whatever air cleaner housing or cold air intake tube you happen to have.

Ok that sounds good. If I run an electric pump instead of mechanical do I mount it forward of the selector switch? So it pulls from whatever tank I’m switching to? I would run a mechanical pump but I have hard starts waiting for fuel to reach the carb

In front of the switch would be the easiest, but closer to the tank is best for pushing.
However, hopefully some of the members here who have mounted their pumps farther forward will chime in with which pumps worked best.
The Carter P4070 is a long standing go to, and seems to pull pretty well. Oddly enough though, even some people have had reasonable luck putting an electric fuel pump as far forward as the engine compartment. But no pump manufacturer that I know of recommends that, and most people have issues when they do.
Not sure why some do and some don’t, but that’s the world of automotive modification!

So, you still have dual tanks? If so, your front auxiliary tank should also have a vent tube. You will want to tee that into the line that goes forward to the charcoal canister as well.
