I just drove it around the block 6 times and even after adjusting the carb, the only way it would stay running with the hood closed is with the air cleaner and air cleaner housing removed. As long as I had the hood opened, it ran pretty good with the air cleaner and housing installed but just as soon as the hood was closed, it started sputtering and soon died.

While driving around the block, I checked the fuel filter 3 times and the standing fuel in the filter was it a very low level every time. The same level that was shown in the picture.

About 2 months ago I broke the PVC valve and purchased one for a 74 inline 6 200. Could this be some of my problem with the missing and sputtering with the hood closed?
