Wondering if anyone has suggestions for a mechanical fuel pump on 76 Bronco 302. The ones that I get from auto parts store seem to be junk. I am not looking to spend a ton of money but maybe something a little better quality. Also does a psi between 6 to 8 sound right ? Thanks

Modern pumps can certainly be junk. But are you letting yours sit for extended periods of time? These days, it seems that even the best pumps will fail prematurely if they are run, then sit, then run again, then sit again for extended periods.

also, 6 to 8 psi is a bit on the high side.
Many carburetors can handle up to that much, but I believe that’s at their maximum.
If it can maintain the volume, a pump that puts out 4 to 5 psi would be more compatible with more different brands of carburetor.
Is your still the stock two barrel?

Look in the 80s we knew mechanical was junk, try electric at 4-5psi, be done with the hassle.

Yes stock 2 barrel and it does sit. So I may have to try electric. Not sure how that works with dual tanks. Any suggestions on type of electrical ?
