I second mounting it to the axle. If you don't want to weld it to the axle weld a spacer on the bottom so it rests right on the axle. My buddy had a setup just like yours installed by a shady shop that failed and I changed it for him to a setup close to Ahansen's setup.
If you mount the spring cup to the radius arm and the axle, that eliminates the flex between the arm and axle. How's that working out? The C bushings need to do their job. I'll bet you missing out on quite a bit of flex.
I'd bet not, I mounted mine the same way years ago and I'd say it's pretty flexy! Granted I am about to change it to
Full size bronco spring width, get rid of the lower cup adapters and install wider adjustable upper buckets this weekend, but I'm doing that for road manners so the coil and shock are closer to wheel and therefore the suspension will have better control over bumps, and I want to lower it 2"s to gain some caster and lower CG a little

I ended up not mounting it to the axle for that reason. I'm gonna assume that a pair of grade 8s will hold it up, what I may do is weld a bump stop type support that will sit on the cast part of the axle there. I'll have to see if it looks like there's any excessive wear on the bolts or anything.
