Garage Floor Coatings

Over the years i have had several old vehicles in and out of the garage that have leaked various types of fluid that has stained the concrete in my garage over time. This winter, i'd like to clean it out and either stain, paint , or install some sort of material down in order to cover up the stains on the concrete. What have bronco owners installed on their garage floor in order to cover up ugly concrete?

I used Sherwin Williams epoxy floor paint on mine and it has held up very well for over 7 years. The only area that has any damage was from a heavy barrage of grinder sparks at close range (I wasn't paying attention). No tire marks, no chemical damage. Just make sure you use the epoxy based, not water based. Its a little more expensive but holds up very well.

does anyone know if you can install epoxy coatings over radiant heat in a concrete floor without it peeling?

patterdale........oh' that was funny

Has anyone addressed jack stands and floor jacks on epoxy coatings (I think I already know the answer). I'm going to stain mine and put a sealer on top. I went to Trader Joes this morning and over the weekend they pulled up the tile, stained the concrete with a seal and buff.
It looks great. And, if it gets a ding just re-stain the concrete. Sorry for the hijack

U use the Home Depot/Rustoleum kit. Probably the same as the lowes kit. I use jack stands all the time. I put cardboard down first though. When movers slid a toolbox sideways it scratched the coating. I used a combination of a stain with a clear epoxy coating,

It is much better than no coating. Oil wipes right off. Doing over again though, I would just spend the money and have the pros do it. I hear it is a much higher epoxy content than the kits and much more durable.

My garage floor is coated in kentucky 31 fescue. It covers the stains really well and if it gets damaged for sum odd reason just give it a week or to and it self heals. Kinda like a blue tail lizzard. And of it gets a hump or hole i just move ovet a few feet and set up shop again. Been working well fir me for bout 7 years now.

If you go to get anything ask if it will stand up to brake fluid. The Rustoleum kit is the only on I know that will.

My boss used the flakes/media which look good, but he said his old eyes can't find a screw when he drops one on the floor.
He loves it.
U-Coat it.
But he said next time no flakes/media.

Gray, I have epoxy coating over my radiant floor heat and it does not effect it. An epoxy guy told me as long as my floor temp was not over 100* it would be fine.

I forget what I used, but if I did it again, I'd go with the more expensive two part epoxy instead of the one part epoxy.

I think it would have made a difference.

I spent quite some time researching on my new garage build. Although I made the decision not to coat I was leaning towards epoxy-coat.

You have to make a few decisions on how long you want it to last (won't last forever), how hard you abuse the floor and how much you want to spend.
Biggest thing is prep as is painting anything.
Any questions you have can be answered here:

Professional done. 2 part paid 1400 for a full three car. Had it now three years and a full restoration done on it. No real complaints, I did drop a 1/4 steel plate on it and chip a small section.
Made my garage feel so much cleaner. Also a lot easier to clean up.

I won a kit from epoxy-coat and it's been down about 3 years. Tough stuff...I'd use it again for sure.
