Rubber lines should only be used in the few short pieces where movement could be expected. Tank to frame, frame to selector valve, and frame to fuel pump.
The only exception is the piece of rubber hose that goes to the carburetor, and that's debatable. That little piece of rubber hose has caused a lot of engine fires.
Rubber hose degrades too quickly to use for the main runs where heat can be expected. The good stuff is also pretty expensive.
Some use braided fuel injection line, but it's sort of expensive and not necessary for a carbureted engine.
Steel fuel line can be fabricated very easily, to replace that nylon fuel line.
I'm curious, what years used nylon fuel line? My '77 came with steel lines.
