Putting together a gauge cluster and I need the turn & High beam tubes. Is there a homebuilt remedy? Duct tape and a toilet paper tube? What have you done?

Steal a spray bottle cap from somewhere. Black would be best or paint a clear one.

What is a gauge cluster tube????

Behind/inside the guage cluster are tubes (looks like super mini toilet paper rolls) around each bulb that keeps the lights focused behind the colored indicators for High beam, turn signal etc. Without them, your high beam and turn indicators would all look lit up.

WAG cash register receipt paper roll???? I'd be concerned with melting if using a plastic of any kind.

go check out the candy shelves at the market check out area. lots of products come in a small plastic tube that could be used, just be sure you leave enough area around the bulb so it won't melt.

ren71 had a great idea as well.

I just about went and bought about 6 rolls of Rolos, in case of failure of course. But I ended up using a toilet paper roll tube that had come unrolled. I re rolled it tight enough then wrapped it in masking tape.

Hopefully it won't look like Crap (toilet humor). You could ask Classy Chassis what he uses,I like the Ren71 idea.

Many drills, taps, and end mills are shipped in small cardboard tubes. A local machinist might be a good source.

^^^ +1
And those are sturdy heavy tubes, not flimsy like toilet paper tubes.

I have not seen a cluster tube, so not certain of the size but would the cardboard tube from a dry cleaning hanger work? (If so, there might be one hanging in your closet, or then again, maybe not with this crowd....)
