So here goes most have seen my '74, its a running fully functioning Bronco that just needs a little TLC due to previous owners rigging stuff up just to make it somewhat function, I.e. the soft fuel lines routed within a mm of the headers and melting in my garage (that was nice), bad wiring everywhere, drums all the way around, small rust hole in both strikers and a little on the toe panel. So all in all I wont be building much just upgrading parts and repainting to make a daily driver and occasional trail rig.

Got the brake conversion from BG and finally go it installed last night. Still gotta bleed it but its all bolted up. Gotta say I was a little disappointed in the instructions or lack there of would be better, but got er all together none the less. Now for the body mounts and hope to have those done by tomorrow evening and hopefully I can start driving this thing daily. Then maybe the serp setup I got from Kerney this weekend who knows.

Doesn't sound too bad. Good luck with the upgrades, I do like blue EB's!

Some current pics of everything

Got the brake lines done last night but still need to bleed em, ya know this whole bronco thing would go along a lot quicker if I didn't have to earn a living.

Didn't get much done this weekend but did manage to restore some of the turn signal buckets so I'm a little stoked about that, one step closer to better wiring at least

Tell me about having to work for a living. Started a frame up restore last weekend. Did the numbers on parts and tools needed. $5000. So its going to be a bit befoe she's on the road again. I hope to be done in a year and a half. That's doing all the work my self. AND the wife is ok with it! Something about its good that I have a hobby now.

Frame ups can take a lot longer, once you get in there you find all kinds of little things you wanna change or do and it'll take 50 different routes before you finally settle on what you want in the end, hence I wanted one already running and reliable so I wouldn't be tempted to remove the body. Keep us posted on your build though always enjoy good frame off bronco porn.

As of last week she was a daily driver. But I started with a blown head gasket. So I decided that I was going to fix everything on her now. That way she'll still be one the road for my grad kids to ride in. Take the time now save money and frustration of man I should have taken care of that little rust before the fender rotted off. Going to start a new thread for you all to watch.

Decided to clean some stuff up to get ready to prime

So Ive been cleaning things up rust wise on the body and boom the bondo was discovered, cant wait to get further in and see how much more of this crap there is. I love PO's, and I don't even want to discuss the wiring in this thing can't wait for my harness to get here. I also managed to get the drip rails cleaned out and gonna por15 them tonight then seam seal them hopefully by next week. All in all its little steps but productive I guess. Here's a pic of the 1/2" of bondo in the fender.

Anybody have any roof supports laying around for the hardtops?

Haven't gotten much done just more boring surface rust clean up, body is pretty much ready for primer on the outside working on the top now. Anyone have an easy way to remove the rear lift gate once the screws have rust welded to the bolts. I'll be removing the top this weekend so if anybody wants to come give me a hand I'll have cold beer and warm pizza readily available

Snowball effect

Well this thing is starting to snowball so Im gonna change direction, by this weekend it will be painted all black just to get a good coat of paint on it and in 2 weeks it should be on the road. Time runs out quick on these things when you're itching to just drive it. I have managed to get the parts of the top I repaired and stripped etched last night and got the steering wheel in. Hopefully by next weekend the wiring harness will be here and my gauge should be done by then too.

Putting the horn on the dash for now, gotta wait on the new harness and just do it then. I needed the leg room more than anything. I believe a horn can work with that wheel but I think it requires an adapter, I'll look at what Grant sent me with the adapter kit and post it up

Progress as of today

Well haven't gotten a whole lot done took forever to get things cleaned up. After I cleaned up all the surface rust I had so many bare spots throughout the body that I went ahead and primed the entire thing and I had some flat black laying around so I painted it. It was just too much bare metal to let it go with nothing and made more sense to get decent paint on it now, I'm going to repaint it this spring, didn't like getting rid of the blue but it had to be done. Replaced all the brake lines, got my new fuel lines from chuck so hopefully those will get replaced this week some time. Gotta send the speedo off to Kevin to have it refurbished, place the glass back in the hardtop, finish rebuilding the heater box with the chebby fan upgrade, fix some wiring, and then she should be on the road. Hoping for the end of the month but we will see. Few pics below, the heater box all torn apart, some paint, and of course my new garage flag I got hung this weekend.

Ok so after months of fixing wiring issues, updating switches, restoring light buckets, painting, fixing brake issues, upgrading brakes, new seals, and so on and so on I have completely forgotten I even started this thread. I am however happy to say that yesterday afternoon she fired on the third crank and will be pulling out of her stall fully registered and plated next weekend. Got a few small things to do yet but I'm a little excited to actually be able to enjoy my bronco and no that everything works, I would like to thank all the previous owners because without them I would know nothing of vehicle wiring. I'll snap a few pics this evening hopefully and post up.

Anybody wanna come help me throw the body lift on Saturday, I'll be getting the UFC Fights and I'll have all the beer and food you can handle.............

Here's a quick pic I snapped with my phone after getting the back glass in, immediately had to throw my All American Infidel sticker on there.

I just happened to have some black laying around the garage and after all the exterior rust spots were fixed it looked like a blue and primer leopard so I just decided to shoot it with the black. The eventual plan is to paint it gunmetal but I may go back to the blue because I really dug it too. The flat black makes it look pretty mean though so who knows I never have a solid plan just kinda wing it.
