I see a Ford and a Fjord, and that color looks like like Viking Yellow. I’m going with Iceland.

Okie is the winner. Myvatn, Iceland. Small little town/village in the north. Rolling through town I caught this out of the corner of my eye. Had to make a u- turn to check it out. Looks solid.

It’s actually a lake surrounded by volcanic craters. As we are inland a bit here. We were in Reykjavik last Thursday and Friday. We missed the eruption 😔

The license plate, water, volcano/mountain and Bjarg sounds about as Icelandic as it gets lol.

When we travel around, especially out of the country, we should have greeting cards, saying howdy and that a member on Classic saw you.
Probably friendlier than wandering around and trying to get directly in touch with people to say hi in a different country.
Not as much fun, perhaps, but a good introduction.

Yes, yes, yes. But what I want to know is if you are going to go visit and take pictures of the current fissure eruption or not.
I’d go if I could!! It’s closed off to the public. Poison gas. I talked to some folks in Reykjavik about it. The people there were all excited and looking forward to the eruption.

For years I kept "intending" to take advantage of a "stay a couple days and see the country" offer that Iceland Air used to offer (maybe still do?) as an alternative to just a few hours layover in Reykjavik. I was flying back and forth to Norway, Sweden and Denmark on a very regular basis and always thought to myself :"OK..not this time..but next time". It was a hella good deal; you got to stay in a nice hotel for a couple days and take advantage of a range of tour options for very little $$.

And then Iceland Air stopped offering those flights for quite a while...I still have not done the mini-vacation thing ;-(

It's a beautiful, wild country, eh Brett? I was in Norway in the spring of 2010 when one of Iceland's volcanoes really popped its top and trapped a bunch of us about 3 weeks because all airline flights were grounded. Good times..I enjoyed the heck out of the extra time in my "second home".
