Yeah Bill, it’s pretty wide open and wild for sure. Driving to Husavik today we were one of 10 cars we saw on the road. Lots of open gravel roads that you need those big 46” tires to manage the stream/river crossings. Saw this EB last this afternoon. I would love to have my 78 over here. They do like their big American trucks here. Lots of f250, dodges, ford excursionsFor years I kept "intending" to take advantage of a "stay a couple days and see the country" offer that Iceland Air used to offer (maybe still do?) as an alternative to just a few hours layover in Reykjavik. I was flying back and forth to Norway, Sweden and Denmark on a very regular basis and always thought to myself :"OK..not this time..but next time". It was a hella good deal; you got to stay in a nice hotel for a couple days and take advantage of a range of tour options for very little $$.
And then Iceland Air stopped offering those flights for quite a while...I still have not done the mini-vacation thing ;-(
It's a beautiful, wild country, eh Brett? I was in Norway in the spring of 2010 when one of Iceland's volcanoes really popped its top and trapped a bunch of us about 3 weeks because all airline flights were grounded. Good times..I enjoyed the heck out of the extra time in my "second home".
