First thing that jumped out at me too. Looks like someone did some decent metalwork on them, but for me, if it's not the stock uncut quarters or classic fender flares, it just doesn't look right to me.
Yeah those rear flares look like they were done pretty well. Most of my finds have been "field finds", but this one was pretty cool to run across in Humboldt, Iowa a few years ago:
Now, I don't feel so bad that I only drive mine on occasion. Some of us just can't let go of these vehicles because of the fond memories they hold. So, we just let our beauties just rot away and we can't see anyone else in them.
What threw me was the guy talking about it like he had just driven 2000 miles..........what planet does he live on. The thing had more fungus than my feet.
