my 71 came as a full top but I came across a nice halfcab top and like the look a lot better. I set it on today and none of the current holes line up. are there any alignment specs to mount the top?

I can make a decent guess but I would really like some pics or measurements if anyone can get them.

I cant wait to get this all sealed up with the cage inside ;D

thanks

Where don't the holes line up? The ones at the floor and at the quarter panels should be fine. If you are talking about along the windshield frame, you have a 66-early 69 half cab that originally came on a Bronco with vacuum wipers. The bolt pattern along the windshield frame changed when they went to electric wipers in mid '69.

You'll have to drill new holes in either the windshield frame or the top. I've tried it both ways, and in my opinion it's much easier to re-drill the windshield frame.

Sorry can't offer any help but wanted to say I love your Bronco---great stance, wheels, and wrap. Looks awesome as a halfcab!

Like Steve83 said, I'd align the top so it fits and seals correctly then mark the halfcab to the existing windshield frame holes and drill them. Only one set of holes in your windshield frame for a cleaner looking install and you can still use both tops. If you really want them I can get the windshield hole measurements from my '67 U14.

I bought a fiberglass top from Tom's, it is awesome but came with no holes at all. I just set the top on and used a lot of clamps and ratchet straps. Measure, measure, measure. It can be done, take your time, open and close the doors a million times. When you are satisfied, drill some holes.
Good luck man.

thanks for the help. all the windshield to top holes line up so I am good there. I also managed to find one (under the wrap) in the QTR panel that lined up. I am good to go.

now if it would cool off so I could get to work on the cage. it is hard for me to get motivated at 100* outside.

so the guide pins in the top fit the windshield frame but the holes are not lined up or the guide pins don't fit thus you can't line the holes up?

When I put a half cab top on my 74, the guide pins didn't line up but everything else did. I just drilled new guide pin holes in the windshield frame.
