Has anyone "customized" steering wheel hub adapters?

The PO installed a Grant steering wheel on the stock column, so it has a Grant hub adapter. I'm switching to a Nardi wheel, but Nardi doesn't produce a hub adapter for the Bronco column. To install the Nardi wheel, I will need to use the Grant hub adapter AND a Grant-to-Nardi adapter. This means I will have two hub adapters on the column. Not the best look, and the dual-hubs means I have less room between me and the steering wheel.

Has anyone modified a steering wheel hub adapter to make it work for a different brand? If so, how easy/challenging was it?

I have but it was a Lecarra gm adapter to grant. I made it so the grant adapter fit inside the lecarra adapter and looks real good and is tight. Not knowing what ur adapters look like it hard to give advice on what to do
