I HATE UPSTATE NY
I tried it....unless you are not running a hood it will not work. Wanna buy some 60's vintage brackets?
I ended up making a custom bracket to go above the alt.

Got any pics of your bracket you made? I was hoping I could use the brackets I bought even if it requires some modification. I am running a 3" body lift so have extra room under hood. ;D

I just took my engine apart. I have a York (using for air only) on my 68 Bronco with 302. I had to make a custom bracket. I only have two bolts holding it in so everyoncve in a while I will snap a bolt. It only can drop 1/8" before the bracket hits the altenator bolt below. Seems to be ok if it does break (belt stays tight) . All I did for the spacing was cut some tube to length and hope the belt stays on. Seems to work fine. I should have the motor back together in a few days and I'll send some picts.

I have pics of a dealer York mount and where it was mounted if that would help. Since I was already serp belt I went w/ a Snaden compressor off a Mustang and it works great and a smaller package. I am limited to 90 psi due to my switch, but I hava a 3 gal tank and it only cycles once for each tire going from 8 to 20 psi. I even ran a cutoff wheel off of it one night.

I'm not sure what brackets you have, but I mounted my york/sag pump in my bronco II using all OEM 302 brackets I found in the junkyard.

Indian Harbour Bch,
I was thinking like you and bought all the a/c brackets and pulleys from a '69 stang with the pump. it mounts aboce the PS pump. If you look on the head there are 2 tapped holes for bolts, and the pivot point for the PS pump as a 3rd.
It didn't work for me because my vac. advance doo-haab is stinking out that way, and my WH PS mount bracket raises the saggy pump up higher, putting it in the way of where the A/C pump needs to be.
Alas, I made my own bracket to fit over the alt. There is the same 3-hole bolt pattern on the psgr side, only a mirror image, so the mustang mount won't work. I cut up some old brackets I had, and paid tohave them welded up for $20. So far, I had to move the heater hose, and trim the upper radiator hose for belt clearance, as I am hookin up with the PS pump as the tensioner. No pics yet. Here are some of the mustang setups...
