Just wondering if anyone has ordered/installed the new repro windshield chrome? Wondering how is the fit/quality?

I installed a set a few months ago....look and fit are pretty nice, but it is definitely thinner metal so u have to be very careful not to bend them. I slightly creased one of the long pieces when sliding it into the rubber channel, but was able to message it out. When installing the windshield in the frame....I was pushing from the outside to keep the windshield close and pressure applied so we could use the old rope wet hold and I tapped one corner in by bumping it with the heel of my hand and it put a dent in it. Be careful...definitely thinner stuff. Hope that helps,

That helps. I think I'll see if anyone has a nice original set I can buy and get polished up. Thanks.

If you get a hold of a descent set....you can use Easy-Off oven cleaner and spray it on the trim...let it set 10-15 minutes and let it do its job earpting the anodized coating off then wet sand lightly with wet 1500 paper till all of the clear is gone and metal is very smooth and hazy..then get a good paste polish and polish polish polish till mirror shine. It's a pain in the but but it works.

I found a used set from TBP. The glass guys had a hell of a time getting it seated into the rubber. Still not fully seated, but hasn't fallen out yet and looks fine if you don't look too close. Pack your patience when installing!
