Headlights dim when I step on the gas

Okay, noticed today that headlights blink on and off, dim then bright a little bit when I'm stepping on the gas. Seems weird i would expect it to work the other way if I had a battery or alternator problem. Just for reference, battery, alternator, voltage regulator all less than a year old as well as pentronix ignition and coil, and about a week ago I left it on ACC all night running down the battery. Had to jump off but cranks fine every time now.

Thanks,
Josh

Belt may be slipping a little under engine accelleration.

Do you also see them blink like that when idling? You can expect that if you're running the stock replacement electro-mechanical relay type voltage regulator. That regulator will cause the voltage to cycle as the relay contacts in the regulator open and close, applying power to the Field connection on the alternator, to maintain the proper charge.

Try replacing that regulator with a solid state one. The application that I seem to remember is a 78 Granada.

Its because your bronco is moving faster than the light.... Just seems bright, but when you slow down or stop the light has a chance to catch up, therefore looking brighter.

I would think maybe bad ground?

faster than the speed of light, thats pretty funny... no with a top speed of 65 mph. No blink when idling, only when I step on the gas, and it seemed to get better the longer i drove. I'm liking the belt slipping idea. Will try when I get home.
