If you do, in fact, come up with a plan/design please post pics and explanation of it. I’m betting that there are more people than me interested in such a design, over engineered or otherwise.
Hey Speedrdr that was Joebronco73's quote, but either way it would be interesting. I many times leave my heater valve cracked open a tiny bit so the temp sensor gets a flow of heated coolant and the computer gets a more accurate temp from the sensor. I don't know whether or not it makes a difference, but it makes me feel better thinking it does. I have seen the H shaped bypass from BC Broncos that would do this. But as we all know there's just not a lot of real estate by the firewall to add stuff.

Also I head back from Dennis Carpenter and they are sending a new valve out and not asking me to return the old one which saves me on shipping costs. I'll let you all know if the new one is any better.

Toms sent me a second one,as well. Sadly no difference.
If someone wants to pay shipping I have a brand new valve sitting on my bench that's all yours.

I bought a metal valve last year, and it has workd as expected.
Don't remember where, but it is an SKP SK416006. (Rockauto sells them)
When OFF no water will pass. When ON water flows.

Note: They are directional, and will only stop water flow in one direction.

Water flow on SBF is FROM intake manifold elbow, to valve, to heater core, and returns to water pump.

Well Oldtimer I'm thinking you're on to something. At least for my EFI Bronco as the valve is in fact installed backwards. The problem is that with the factory EFI the heater coolant flow is a solid pipe all the way to the back of the manifold. That coupled with the short control cable makes it difficult to add the valve in the correct orientation. I need to look at it more and I'll probably start a new thread about it if I'm correct since I've hijacked this thread.

There are valves available that are reverse flow. They’re not for Broncos of course, but they fit that application. I think member 904Bronco had a part number.
