I ordered Hedman headers from jet-hot about 2 weeks ago and was told the bronco models were backordered and they didn't expect to get them to jet-hot until about the 10th of June...then they showed up UPS 2 days ago ahead of schedule...wow...sterling coated and ready to go. Got them installed yesterday...mechanic says was PITA...I told him I had read the Hedmans were a drop in install...not so he said. He said he tried all different ways to drop them in from top and bottom and lastly had to loosen the motor mounts to squeeze in. The painted Duff shorties just didn't do the truck justice. The Sterling coating on the Hedmans looks awesome and hopefully will keep the engine bay cooler...just in time for F4A.

How did you set it up? 2 straight pipes (no "H") ? What mufflers? and lastly how does it sound?

They look great! Let us know if they reduce your temp significantly.

I am running a 351W and am thinking about coating my headers to reduce under hood temps.

Straight pipes (no H)...turbo mufflers...very throaty "mustang-like" sound...a bit more subtle than flowmasters (what I had earlier). Strong tone but you can still hear the stereo and carry on a conversation in the truck. Exactly what I was looking for. The painted Duff shorties didn't do the truck justice and the new jet hot sterling coating on the Hedmans should really keep the temps down and look great.

I did my heddmans in my yard by myself in a little over 2 hours no problem, mine is a 302. And I am no mechanic. All the bolts went right in, I helped a buddy put some ...... I think they were dynomax on his Big Bronco what a PITA 6 hours to get the passenger side in. Only problem is 5 months after I put them on (the sterling finish) they are peeling, but I think that is because my timing was about 20 degrees retarded not jethots fault.

I'd give them a call and see what they say. A few people have had their's redone.

THAT is total B.S.

I've installed six sets of them, and they are the easiest installation in the world of headers. I would seriously consider using another mechanic in the future.

My headers are at Jet Hot now.

Anybody go with the black coating. I ordered the black and just wanted to know what everyone thought.

Well, his install did cause me a bit of trouble in that Nick Menudier (nickstrix) had to adjust my shift linkage in the hotel parking lot @ the ECBR Free-4-All. Seems that the shifting of the motor to install the hedmans got everything off a bit...I was rolling while in park.

Those headers jump in themselves. I did have to slightly tweek my C4 dip stick to clear but that was all.

I have the painted ones and the paint burnt off the first run, they still look fine though, but only been on 2 months.
