How can I determine which "bearing" rear I have. It's a '74 302/auto, has the 10x2.5 drums. Door tag says rear gvwr is 2546. Should I be looking somewhere else?

I'd have to say its a small bearing with that rating. But you can look at the axle tube where it meets the brake backing plate if the axle tube stays the same size all the way to the plate its a small bearing if it bells out then its a large bearing or whats called medium duty axle. But I think the meduim duty axle was rated at about 2700 lbs. so your lower rating may be for the small bearing.

That is probably the 4450 lb GVWR. It could have either the light (small bearing) or medium (large bearing) duty axle. Both were rated at 2780 lbs. You would have to look at the bolt pattern to be sure.
