My '83's bumper has a door to hide the winch, and it's very easy to access & operate. So it CAN be done.

Have you checked with Gordon Bailie?

I will be working on a custom bumper with a hidden winch. If anyone has one lets see them and let us know what you did to make it work!

Proto Fab hidden winch

My daughter has the ProtoFab hidden winch bumper on her '72 project with a 1 inch body lift. Ordered it for a 1 inch body lift and there is no gap. I like the bumper but I will say the area of the fairlead is narrow so you can't run the Factor 55 fairlead or others without them sticking up above the bumper.
