A rat decided to sit on top of my tranny and chew a 1" chunk out of my high pressure fuel line on my '89 f250. Can I just cut it out, place a straight air line fitting in it and than clamp it on either end?

I am hesitent to answer. I take it he didn't chey a metal line. So either the nylon (plastic) line or a rubber line. Repairs for each are different. The plastic line doesn't take fittings and clamps very well. Rubber does better. Air line does NOT work for fuel hose.

The "Help" section of Advance auto or any other parts store has repair parts for High pressure FI fuel lines.
