I was in the middle of winch install when I noticed I will not be able to open the hood as winch will be blocking the latch. Did anyone relocate the hood latch? I need to move it up by one inch. Would that be easy or should I start playing with the bumper?

I changed mine out to use a remote release inside the cab. Found a old vw rabbit and cannibalized the hood release. I used everything from the rabbit. Makes for clean install. Sorry no pics of it on my phone

I cut and shortened mine for the same reason. It was about an inch, I think. Handle now sticks out through a different opening in the grill.

I cut off my latch handle years ago when I lived in the bay area, there is a little tab on the passenger side of the latch itself that I just press with my thumb to open it, takes a bit to get the hang of but works fine for me.

Cut at orange line, open with tab shown in red circle (the back one):

The '76 in the shop "Gramps" has, or had one of the Warn PowerPlant (or whatever that winch/compressor combo was called) which blocked the latch. The quick fix was to simply cut off the part that sticks out of the grille.
Reaching around either side of the winch and pulling from behind with one finger did the job pretty easily. The hood in this case did open pretty easily, so one finger was all that was needed. But I could see some Broncos I know being pretty troublesome trying to pull at an awkward angle with just the one finger. Have to be pretty strong to do that on some, but in this case it was pretty easy.
