How do I measure to check for stock suspension lift, etc?

How do I measure to see if I have stock suspension lift? What do I look for? (Front and back). Body lift is stock and I am considering putting in a 2 " body lift and possibly a suspension lift way down the road.

My main question is how much modification will be needed to do this? I have a 1974 with 302 and C4 auto tranny. Really, the only reason I want to do this is to give me a little more tire clearance and be able to fit the double shock hoops if the future if I decide to go that way. (Are the shock hoops worth it?)

Lastly, if I go with a the larger rear gas tank, what specfically do I need to do before or after the body lift. Which tank will work best?

Thanks! Sorry for all the questions. You guys that share your know how are very appreciated!

for stock, measure from the top of the axle to the bottom of the frame. should be 6" I think.

for a body lift you will need to re-adjust your gas filler necks, legthen the c4 shifter if it is on the column, make sure all your wires reach. As for a suspension lift you pretty much just put in new coils, add -a leaf, and longer shocks. If you go for 3 1/2 or bigger you need to weld on a drop trac brackect, and install a drop pitman. The BEST gas tank is from BC Broncos. It is 24 gallons super strong and mounts in such a way that it will slide up against your floor with a body lift.
