If the t stat housing is warped a little it will leak. Very common for them to warp or have some corrosion between the bypass and main outlet. As for the power steering leak probably have some air in the system so its just leaking once the air is out of the system it shouldnt leak anymore.

The T-stat housing was a brand new unit from BC Broncos for the 90 deg bend needed for explorer serpentine. So hopefully its not warped. I remember being not quite sure how the rubber o-ring went w/the thermostat; didn't seem like it would provide the seal so I also used the paper gasket that came w/it. I think I'll take it off and check, and then use some RTV for the gasket. The problem is I can't see in there where its leaking, so I'm not sure whether its one of the hoses or if its the housing; water comes out at the very bottom of the housing near as I can see, but not sure if its leaking from a hose above and the water traveling down the housing.

Now that the cam is broken in I can focus a bit more on this problem. Glad to hear about the PS fluid; I did have the reservoir completely full, and it really started going out when we turned the steering wheel back and forth to get the fluid down into the system.

Once I fix the leaks I can then weld a piece into the hood brace that I had to hack out so the air cleaner would fit to box that back in...
