hydraulic clutch too stiff!

i bled my hydraulic clutch today and it's super stiff. i'm not sure i'll be able to drive it without killing it. it's a 3/4" bore master cylinder. is there something i'm missing? i used heims and clevises on the slave cylinder so i know it isn't binding.

has anyone had a similar experience?

3/4" bore is the max size you want to use for a clutch. 5/8 is the normal size. But 3/4 does work, I used one for years. It was stiff, but not bad. Maybe try bleeding it more?

Not sure which size I used, but it does take some effort. Not terribly different from the mechanical linkage. Are you using the Wildwood? If so, source some additional 5/16" fine thread stock for the connection from the slave to the clutch fork. The one that came with mine didnt last long. You may get better life out of the rod if you make the hole in the clutch fork larger than need be and use a nylon bushing to sleeve the rod where it would be in contact with the fork. I had two break before I went to a sleeve and its been good since. I am pretty sure that I have an optimum angle tot he fork as well for the slave...so I dont think it was due to a poor vector. Just so you know. It sucks being without a clutch when you are miles from home just because some 5/16" rod gave out. Let me know if you dont follow me.

i'm definitely gonna need a pic.

Are you using the Wildwood slave? If not, then what I said above is totally irrelevant. If you are using the Wildwood slave, let me know and I will post up pics and a description of what I did at the slave to clutch-fork junction.

i'm using another brand slave but it's exactly the same as the wilwood slave. i used clevises on each end and have heims on the clutch fork and the trans crossmember that the clevises pin to. there isn't any binding on the slave cylinder.
