Going to rez this thread, Steve I read the writeup over at Motoman's page, great write-up. If I understand your methods correctly you basically shaped the mounting plate to match up with Five bolt holes on the firewall? Also it looks like you cut out a curve to match the shape of that piece of the firewall where the stock MC bolts to? Any chance you have a nice template already made up and in an electronic format? Worth asking.....
Yes, definately worth asking, and I wish I could help you out. That plate was simple enough to make that I didn't think a template would be necessary.

A tape measure gets you the size of the plate. I used 3/16". The tape measure was also good enough to lay out those 5 holes. I did make a cardboard template to follow the curve around the steering column.

Thanks Steve,
Thought it was worth asking just to make sure there wasn't any important details I might be overlooking.

As far as making that mounting plate, no, it's pretty simple. The lower drivers's side mounting hole, at least on my 70, is a bolt into the pedal cage. Different than the rest. I welded a stud on the back side of that mounting plate to go through the hole in the pedal cage and put a nut on the inside.

Taking the big nut off the back of the hydroboost unit is a chore. And, from what I remember, that booster is keyed. So once I got the hole cut in the plate (hole saw) I put a bit of weld on the plate to act as a key. Also, the hole in the firewall isn't quite big enough to fit the nut on the back side of the hydroboost, but a couple minutes with a flat file and it fit fine.

Here are the ones I had a friend make following the advise from Steve. They work great.

Those look great, any chance of sharing metal type, width, and dimensions on the smaller adapter shim?
Thx

The indexing ring is 1/2" aluminum to work with the F250 HB and Dodge MC, and the firewall mount is 3/16" aluminum.
