We bled the brakes.. Nothing
We switched the high pressure hoses to make sure.. Nothing

Put hoses back and unhooked the low pressure return and put a -6 cap on the t to make sure we were getting fluid. Still nothing. Nothing coming out of the low pressure hose. Engine was running and tires turned fine. Why were we not getting anything out of the hydroboost unit?

Now what???

Is my unit (reman) bad? I do have a junkyard unit sitting in my garage, should I cut the shaft on it and try to see if it works?

I am also running the Wildhorses HD Delphi pump=. They say it can handle hydroboost, power steering, and hydro assist steering at the same time.

I would have to be getting High Pressure at hydroboost becasue I have power steering (lines go to hydro first). Fluid in the pump is full. I cna take the line off the low pressure out of the steering pump and I got fluid.

Same as what I have..

I just finished putting the vacuum assist on. This is what I found. SAME DAMN THING!!! We bled the crap out of the lines. WTH!!!

So what does this tell me?? I guess go to store tomorrow and rebleed!! I will just run the vacuum assist this weekend and call it good. As long as I can stop this thing.

I am only putting this in reverse as I can only shut it down before putting it back in park due to the tranny turning or its gonna grind.

So you're saying you aren't stopping even with the vacuum booster on? You should have manual brakes at a minimum. If you don't maybe your MC is jacked. Izzy had to shim his astro boost unit so it would let off the brakes, so I don't think that's the problem as long as the rod is moving you should have brakes with the system running. I didn't have to shim mine at all. Different MCs will do that I guess. Can you remove the MC and apply the brakes with the engine running to make sure the rod is moving? (I realize you switched back to vacuum, just throwing an idea at you)

I do have some brakes. Not great but the tires keep spinning while in the air. I should be able to lock them up and quit turning. I would think. But I have to stand on the pedal. Both setups.

When the vehicle is off and the brake pedal is pushed and tires are in the air, I cannot physically turn the tire myself.

I did remove the master cylinder on both of them and have rod movement. The rod for the HB was the factory rod with a matching year master. The rod and master for my vacuum assist is what I use to run.

You gotta use a different pivot arm with the hydro setup. Are you trying to use a factory vacuum angle bracket and pivot arm?

Yes on the factory bracket. I am using the clevis only from the vacuum setup. I cut off the rod and and threaded it. The kits look to be identical.

I bet u got something limiting the linkage if u have to put both feet on the pedal and push just to get some breaking. U really need to modify that bell crank(pivot arm) when using it w/ HB. I'm getting the feeling this is a linkage issue, u probably have something in a bind or bottoming out.

Hey,

(After reading the second page, I see the pressure side of things has already been ruled out. Sorry to clutter up the thread.)

You want some movement in the linkage before the booster put pressure on the mc

When I fabbed mine up I could tell right away that the HB rod to the pivot was going to be too short and not a strait shot into the HB. How much rod is left from the treaded end of the connector(clevis) to the read end of the HB.
If its less than 3/4"+- its to short.
