Not sure what you mean, works fine for me. Not being disrespectful, just sharing my experience.

Exactly what was stated above. Any smaller will result in a low, squishy, super sensitive pedal.

That's the setup I'm looking for. Love the aluminum MC because it won't rust. The specs on it are a 1.125 bore and 1.25 stroke. I'm guessing that bolts up to the HB and uses that short rod pictured in the summit product image.

Judging by your signature line you are running front disc and rear drum. It appears you are using an adjustable proportioning valve. I suppose that is smarter then my fixed proportioning block. Which one did you use?

I also love how clean you ran the brake lines. What fittings are needed to make that happen?

Yes, its a direct bolt-on to the HB unit. Its holes are slotted to fit multiple configurations. That short rod,
or "bullet" gets inserted into the master cylinder to turn it into a shallow well unit for use with power brake setups.
The rubber boot gets discarded.

The switch at the front is for brake lights (not brake warning light). I took it off and plugged it as it was not needed.

The brake lines are -3 an. I went this route because I suck at bending lines. They come in different lengths/configurations:
https://www.summitracing.com/search...&SortOrder=Ascending&keyword=3 -an brake line

You'll need two of these to convert the Wilwood valve:
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/ear-581531erl

And one each of these for the master cylinder:
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/fra-650306
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/fra-650305

The outlets on the Wilwdod valve are also 3/8 -24, so standard brake lines will screw right in. You'll need to
change out your original lines as they are different sizes.

I sincerely appreciate the time and effort you put into providing all the links for what I need. I just placed my order from summit. Thank you again.

Anybody know of a good master cylinder for a hydroboosted disc/disc set up that has a plastic reservoir? I'm tired of the metal top cast iron ones leaking... :(

80's Ram truck is what I was going to use.

Its aluminum and has a plastic reservoir.

Originally for front disc rear drum but many have used it for4 wheel disc. I was going to use it with hydraboost.

Update:

I have the straight bracket inbound and yesterday I received the Hydroboost unit that was supposed to be from an Astro Van. Unfortunately, it appears GM Part #19286748 which for a variety of 2002 GM HD Trucks. Pictures of the HB unit below. As you can see it is in great condition with is a big plus.

From what I can tell the difference between this part and the Astro Van part is the mounting bolt pattern. This clearly is made to fit a specific firewall. Can the mounting plate be swapped off to more standard bolt pattern? It looks like the plate is available on ebay:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Astro-Van-...ash=item46447a2ed5:g:BaEAAOxyUrZSzYNV&vxp=mtr
It also appears to need a special tool. I wonder if there is someone in Los Angeles that has that tool as a loaner.

My other thought is to just drill the existing this plate to match the needed bolt pattern.

Also, the input rod looks to be about 5 7/8" with is just shy of the Astro's 6" input shaft and I'm not sure if that is enough to matter or if it can be adjusted out in the linkage.

I would LOVE to hear everyone's thoughts on how to proceed.

Thank you again for all your help. I would be in the weeds without this forum.

Ron

That's a super clean unit - congrats! It should work just fine for what you want to do. Knocking the studs out and re-drilling holes is certainly an option.

I'll be in the LA area on Sunday at the Fab Fords show - don't know if you ever go to that show or not. I could bring a tool along to use if you like - it's not perfect (it has a chip out of one of the teeth) but it works.

The push rod is the correct size for the bracket you bought but you can't redrill that plate. The hole is offset and it would hit the hood, I take the nut off carefully with a hammer and chisel with little or no damage but if you can
get a tool better yet.

I was a mustang HB I had to use the chisel on because the nut was in a recess, that plate is flat so a wrench would work ok.

That would be great! Where is the Fab Fords show and when will you be there? I guess it would be best if I had the new plate to mount it on at the same time. hmmmm

The Fab Fords Forever show runs from 7:00am-3:00pm, Sun. April 15. At Knott’s Berry Farm. It’s actually across the street, but yo can’t miss it. Free admission for spectators. We usually expect close to 100 Early Broncos.

The inline bracket actually comes with two brass bushings for 1/2" or 5/8" input rods, so you're covered either way.

The length of your input rod should't be a factor.

The backing plate you sourced out on eBay would work perfect.

Did the unit come with the output rod that goes between the HB and master?

As Mark noted, it runs from 7-3 (can spectators get in before 10?). I'll try and remember to throw the socket in with my stuff tomorrow.

I managed to get the wrong mounting plate off with an 18" adjustable wrench and a few hits with a mallet. It wouldn't have been possible if it was one of the recessed mounting brackets. Now I'm going to order the Astro Van mounting plate on ebay and I think I'll be good to go!

I believe that the output shaft is in my unit. See picture.
