Ok all. I am new with the EB I had this project for a few months. Unfortunately I have only had about a month to work on it. It has been sitting for a while since before Christmas.

I am looking to add Power Stearing. My Bronco didn't come with it. However the person before me collected a few parts for the conversion. Please help me figure out what I may be missing. I have a PS Box. IT has what looks like half of the stearing shaft connected to it still. I did notice that their isn't an arm on the bottom of the box to connect to my stearing bars. Can I use the fitting on the manuel stearing box? I know I need hoses.
I am leaving a few pictures for you guys to look at. This is all I have.

What kind of PS box is it? Where from? Is it worth messing with. Everything turns nicely even the pump? Where might I find the PS hoses need for this pump and box?

Thanks for your help!

Ryan

It's really hard to ID a steering box just by looking at it.
The Pitman arm, which connects the Sector Shaft to the Drag Link, that is on your manual box now, will fit on many other steering boxes. And the Sector shaft on a Early Bronco box rotates clockwise (when looking down on it) and on a 4x4 F-150 it rotates the other way. It is reversable tho. hmmm... The Sector shaft is the splined part sticking down, out of the steering box.
Go to the web sites of B.C. Broncos, and James Duff's, I think they both have pictures of the most common boxes swapped onto Broncos, and the B.C.B site tells how to reverse the 4x F150 box. The 2x F-150 box doesn't need to be reversed but it is hard er to mount.
Having the lower part of the steering shaft is a big +
A NAPA store should be able to figure out which hoses you need, and some of them can make custom hoses if needed.

As Skuzzlebutt suggested, look at the sponsors sites and check out their power steering kits. It will give you a good idea of what you will need. The return hose is a low pressure hose. You should be able to get it at any auto parts store. I had my high pressure hose "custom made" at a local shop that specialized in hydraulic stuff. Took them the box and the pump and let them match up the fittings.

In any case you will need a double groove crank pully and fan pully, You will also need a power steering pump, the brackets to mount the pump and new belts. not a bad Idea to run a Power steering cooler either. Depending on what type of box you have (factory eb box or other) will make a difference in some of the other stuff you need for the steering.

Thanks for the info. I will look up the sponsors to see if what I have is correct. I think the box is a saganaw unit. It has a weard looking s on it. I just put 2 and 2 together on that I may be wrong. The pump looks old it is realy round. Anyway I'll check the other sites.

Thanks
