My brother bought me a GM style distributor for my 302 this thing is massive. Sits about 3-4 inches higher. Coil is built in. Chinese brand. I don’t think I can use existing air filter. Looking for advice or tips on installing this thing. Would someone recommend it etc…..

Not sure if DUI does something different, but I’ve seen a lot of them on known stock broncos with a 302. If a 351 it is known to be an issue with no body lift and stock hood. The import model may be different, I don’t know.

Stock air cleaner is about the only one that fits easily with it. If you can find a nice offset air filter, you could probably make it work.
If you use it without a body lift, the hood brace on most year Bronco hoods will have to be cut.
I believe a couple of the early models like 66 and 67 had a different brace set up. Not sure if that made it easier or harder.
A body lift does come in handy. I believe 1” is enough, but not sure if you can get away with it, or if you need 2 inches.

Duraspark setup, and stock parts or send/buy it it to be recurved to your setup at a place like advanced distributors.

Good call. They are also known for breaking the shaft. Something a spare module can't fix. How it can break a shaft confuses me, it's not like there is a lot of stress on the shaft. From the gear down to the oil pump, yes. But the part that drives the top of the distributor, it just spins. And that is what I hear breaks.

DUI may still have a Duraspark II they built in the past. I would call Wes Adams from Klamath Falls, OR and have him build a DSII

FWIW some of the mid 70's Olds' had a enclosed air filter assembly that uses a 14" filter element, but is offset on the carb mount ring. Clears the spring tower to spring tower cross-brace used on 60's era Mustangs. I used one on the Ranchero. I modified it, using some Chevy truck hood sheet metal, to have a large cold air entry. Wish that I'd taken pics of all of the mods that I made on that car. I don't even have a pic of the car.

Could be that the specific info needed is the FWD part. It's been way too long since I made that mod to recall the donor specifics. I was doing good to remember that it was a Olds. :)
