I'm really sorry to hear about the Bronco, but happy to hear you're OK.

Just another reminder of the benefits of a good cage.

Yes, I'm glad you're okay also. I also noticed the little one in your avatar, thank goodness he wasn't along. Good luck with the repairs. Oh, and did the gas truck stop?

Yeah whew! The little man (he’s 8 now) wasn’t with me.
The truck did stop. His story to the cops was that he was passing already, and that my intent was to hit the shoulder and pass them both. That guy can eat (Deleted the rest of that)
I’m seriously considering a go pro or whatever so I can have a video to dispute asshattery. It would be kinda neat to have a video of it.

My dues for contributor status are en route via snail mail

I’m pretty sure I can fix it. But, it hit pretty hard on the right front, and especially the left rear. The rear 1/4 is pushed down maybe 2 inches, and forward. The doors still open and latch, but the gaps are way way off.

Is pass two cars legal where you live? Might be an insurance issue.

Glad you are ok!

Sure? I did get a careless driving ticket, because I was about 50ft short of it being a passing lane. I’ll just add it to the stack.

Thankfully you're ok and no one else was injured.
Did you have your cage tied into the frame?

I was given a hard time by a coworker about this.
He thinks it was foolish to try and pass both cars, and it was fully my fault, no matter the action of the cement truck.
So, I’m adding this to defend my position, in case that may be the (unspoken) view here As well.
here’s pictures of the stretch of road. Long and straight for easily a 1/3 mile.
And while it was technically double yellow lines, the passing zone was eminent, I had a clear view of everything, with zero chance of cross traffic.
The pic on the left is where I was coming from (you can see where I hit the dirt after crossing lanes) and the pic on the right is where I was headed (can see where I left the shoulder, to cross the lanes)

This should’ve been a real easy pass. Wtf.

Ugh. The more I’m lookin at it, the more depressed I get. I think it’s too tweaked to ever be brought back to square.

Who wouldn't have done the same on that long straight stretch?

Very good there were no trees or poles involved.

I bet it was loud.

Glad you're ok. Another example of why these things need a roll cage. Nobody leaves the house thinking I'm gonna flip my bronco today

Sorry about your wreck, and good to hear you are OK. Don't beat yourself up, sh*t happens... Looking at all the pics, there are so many worse endings than how you ended up.

I always kind of think of it. I always pictured it, blowing a tire at 90mph or something.
This roll was pretty easy, I almost think the cage didn’t do much. What it DID do was give me a point to anchor the shoulder belts. That was likely the biggest help here

I wasnt such an advocate for cages till I had kids. Having been in a few roll overs before(non eb) I know how easy it can happen daily driving on the street.
