IAC wiring too short with RJM harness or perhaps upside down?

Hey folks,

More sorting...and sorting...

I noticed the IAC wiring was very short and interfering with the throttle cable (going to a stock Mustang 5.0 cable but still this looks way too short.

Any thoughts? Could the RJM harness have been too short or am I missing something?

I will be going to a top-notch auto electrician soon and he can extend it if need be.

Thanks again!

Brett

there are some IACs with a 90 degree connector on them that might give the length you need.

scratch that looks like you have it already.

I know what he is going through. If you rotate it 90 degrees it will interfere with the throttle bracket and cable.

That was a common issue with the old RJM setup. Sometimes no matter which way the IAC was clocked, you just had to add some wire length.
We have added the extra few inches with our harness, to avoid just this issue.

It's not super hard to extend them, but it's still a pain. Not sure what setup it fits perfectly with, but it wasn't any of the ones I've been involved with!

So you can use the IAC valve off a 1996 explorer electrical there the same all that changes is the plug. Go to the junk yard and get a IAC off a 5.0l explorer and cut the pigtail off for the plug.

This is what I had to do with my most recent 5.0 OBD I conversion...

All good guys. Just needed confirmation I wasn’t losing my mind. Rig is going to a top notch auto electrician and I will ask him to extend it while there.
