• Be EXTREMELY cautious if someone offers to buy your Bronco for more than your asking price and sight unseen. ESPECIALLY if the buyer is overseas. It's probably a scam.

"Very rare to see one of these in your town" is an understatement.

I suppose I just don't get it? 100k plus for a bronco? I love Broncos I've had 12-13 of them but the ICON bronco is not that nice. It's pretty much the same thing a lot of you guys have been building except it has a coyote motor?
I guess each to his own but this is getting ridiculous

I agree that 100k for a bronco is crazy, but the icon has a ton of one off pieces that is unique. It's most definitely not a bolt on build.

There's a bronco place out of Ohio that tries to sell 125k Broncos on eBay and those are strictly bolt on Broncos with pieces from vendors, nothing custom. That is crazy in my opinion

I think we figured that ICON puts between $65k - 100k into their builds, depending on the customers wants. Plus labor. They spend more on the skyscraper grade glass for the hard top than they do the donor body.

There are maybe a handful of people on here doing what they are to EBs. 2 weeks ago they sold build #24. They have made between $3-$4,000,000 on 24 EBs. Geniuses

ICON Broncos are more than just a nice Bronco. The asking price comes from about 1,500 man hours it takes to build one, plus the research and development, and the high end parts. They drive and feel completely different since the weight has been proportionally distributed throughout the vehicle and are not nose heavy like ours. The suspension/brakes/steering is engineered for driving conditions in 2015, not 1966 so it's not even in the same ball park. These are amazing vehicles and there's no doubt they caught the attention of Ford.

I think my wording is not quite correct so,let's try this.
Icon Broncos are very nice I didn't mean to say they are not.
I guess my take on it is I like to do what I want with mine and if I spent that much money on one it would probably sit in the garage next to my hot rod until it was a nice day.
My Bronco is my daily driver, rain or shine and she's pretty nice. Would I take an Icon hell yes, can I afford one hell no.
In the mean time I'll just keep playing with my toys. ;D

How exactly are they moving the weight around?

Short of relocating a battery or modifying the wheelbase (which they do not do as far as I know), I'm curious how this is supposedly done.

Dana 60 with the 4 link, rear bumper tire carrier with storage boxes and loads of sound deadening is the majority of it. I think the Coyote motor is a little lighter than the 302 as well. I see a battery in the engine bay still

The original box section Ford chassis is replaced with one that is custom made using 2”x4”x0.180” mandrel-bent tubing and laser cut mounts from chassis guru Art Morrison. The more contemporary design of the replacement chassis features wider rails for enhanced rigidity and better weight distribution, thus improving dynamics and handling.
Fully remanufactured Dynatrac axles are fitted front and rear, with a high-pinion Dana 60 used at the rear and Dana 44 at the front, both with Superior 36-spline axles and 4.56:1 geared ARB Air Lockers. This particular vehicle features the optional Sport Brake Package with six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers and massive 405mm brake rotors.
The diffs are mounted to the chassis via custom four-link suspension with Fox coil-overs fitted with Eibach springs and Hotchkis sway bars. The trailing arms use ‘Johnny joints’ which are softer riding and quieter than heim joints yet allow the same amount of movement for excellent articulation, giving this rig a full 300mm of travel at each end. The wheels on this BR are Pro Comp alloys wearing 285/75R17 BFG All Terrains.

Short of relocating a battery or modifying the wheelbase (which they do not do as far as I know), I'm curious how this is supposedly done.

Jonathan Ward, the owner of ICON, said that it is greatly done by having the Dynatrac ProRock 60 in the rear and keeping a lighter D44 up front. I've watched almost all his videos while working very slow nights waiting on call at the pharmacy. The wheelbase isn't stretched to my knowledge either but perhaps they shift the engine slightly down and back as well. The rear tire carrier and spare have to help some as well. They have built a few "Reformer" Broncos that are Broncos with ICON upgrades, not full tear downs and rebuilds. While taking one out for a spin he commented on how different the handling felt

There seems to be an opinion and a market for about anything..if you have buyers.

To many people, most Bronco people, when this company significantly changes the classic Bronco it is no longer appealing.

Some people simply don't have the dollars to invest, and many other people choose not to invest in this product. Suffice to say they have a very limited market.

However in the big scheme of the classic Bronco world having a company offer this products is good for the industry as a whole. Small minded and small thinking people get their wish...they keep everything small and contained. Jealous type of negative thinking people do not contribute anything positive to the classic car industry.

Growth, opportunity, and creative idea's keep the classic car world moving forward in a positive and large direction....good for all Bronco lovers! :)

Exactly. He bought up a lot of the clean uncut Broncos from all over the country. Hes built 24 and has another 15-20 waiting in his storage lot.

The rust free $6,500 Broncos seem to be gone. All I can find are projects until you get up around $8,500+. I can only imagine how much our values are going to rise once everyone realizes how few there are to buy
