I’ve searched but not coming up with concrete evidence this is the one I would need.

He wants 500 for it. Wasn’t looking for one and it’s 3.5 hours from me. I know these sell pretty quick so contemplating going after work today. And seems like a good deal. Could pick up the transfer case with a couple extra bucks.

Lmk if this is the correct one.

Thanks!

That looks correct to me. Just the standard clues. The diagonal case webbing and ZF tag, looks like it is bolted to a small block (not a big block, diesel, or mod motor)

I am not an expert on ZF data plates.

Not sure why you would want the transfer case, won't work in a Bronco application. It is the common slip yoke output, not the more desirable fixed yoke. But it appears to be the manual transfer case. The engine has more appeal.

Found this over on a Truck board

In 1988, Ford started using a roller block for the 302 truck, but fitted with a flat tappet camshaft. The 1988 through 1991 blocks were all roller blocks, fitted with a flat tappet cam with these specs : 185 degrees duration intake/193 degrees duration exhaust@.050" and .379" valve lift intake/.395" exhaust. Starting with 1992 302 truck engines Ford switched to a roller cam, but with the same specs as the previous flat tappet cam, thus engine horsepower & torque ratings were the same. In 1994 engines, Ford gave the 302 truck engine a "warmer" roller cam with the following specs : 198 intake/200 exhaust @.050" and .422"intake/.448 exhaust, and re-rated factory horsepower from 185 net to 199 net(automatic),and 205(manual).Torque also was increased, but I forget the exact factory rating. I sent a few camshaft questions to the techs at Ford Racing (586)468-1356 regarding my 1990 Bronco's EFI302. Here is part of their answer : "Your engine is already equipped with a roller compatible block, but uses a flat tappet cam.Should you wish to convert to a roller cam, you will need to purchase the Ford Racing Part # M-6253-A50 Roller Cam Conversion Kit and the Ford Racing Part # M-6500-R302 Roller Lifters. These can then be used with your choice of roller cam." Since your truck's 302 is a 1991 you have a roller block, fitted with the same flat tappet cam that was O.E.M. for my 1990's 302. A pevious owner put an aftermarket(flat tappet...) cam in it,but I don't know it's exact specs. You might call Ford Racing,or write to them at : Ford Racing Performance Parts, 44050 N. Groesbeck Highway, Clinton Township, MI.48036-1108. Make sure you tell them your truck's model year, engine sizes, and the changes you want to make. They'll be able to give you way better advice then I could. You to get your started on your "shopping list" prices for part #s M-6253-A50 & M-6500-R302 are $59.99 & $140.00,respectfully. All camshaft specs mentioned are with 1.6 ratio rocker arms. Good luck with your project.

Need to be one from a small block. From memory there are two correct ZF models, one is the ZF-42 and the other a ZF-47 but again it needs to be from a small block bolt pattern.
I beleive the ZF-47 is a the newer version and is rumored to be a bit more HD.

That trans is for a 4.9L and 5.8L according to my chart. Will fit 302 as well. You don’t want the transfer case. Won’t fit early bronco. And will have a hard time selling it for $100. Ask me how I know. Haha.

I just assumed it was a 205 I know little about the zf5 combos. I picked up an ax15 the other day for 150. I should probably just stay the course. I’ve just heard this trans is very durable. And if that was a good deal maybe for another project, or pass the deal onto someone here later. But I just plan on seeing the backcountry. Probably not extreme rock crawling. I live in the Midwest. Pretty flat here.

The AX15 will be fine for you. What size tires are you going to run? Stock axles? Transfer case?

Probably 35s I picked up a 31 spline 456 3rd member and found a set that match for the front. I have found everything for this truck on market place. I really haven’t picked one thing out. Hopefully I can make it all happy 😃

I’d run the AX15 if I were you. You already have it.
