I have a 77 body and going to install an BC 23 Gal Tank and ditch the Aux Tank.

Im thinking there has to be something cool to do for the empty fuel filler behind the door.

Maybe an extra cig lighter for charging phones etc or maybe a port for on board air or ?

I have seen it used for a air chuck for on board air. That was cool. Also a good spot for a flux capacitor fill! LOL

Yeah mine gets a little shaky over 70 mph too! A bottle opener is also a good idea!

Put a electrical pig tail hanging out and tell everyone it's a hybrid.

My advice, don't ditch the aux tank. I run a 23 gallon tank in the rear and I ditched my stock tank. I do not have anywhere near the range of the rest of my friends who kept their aux tanks - I am "that guy" on trips who always has to stop for gas first. My 351 is thirsty.

If you are set on ditching it - all ideas proposed are good ones. An air chuck, an auxiliary power source, a bottle opener... all great. Another idea - hide a battery tender behind there somewhere, and a quick disconnect connector hidden behind the fuel door so you can plug in and maintain your battery in about the cleanest possible way...

I live at the beach and my AUX tank on my 77 will hold water and have a spray nozzle behind the door for spraying the sand off before getting back in the bronco after a day at the beach... My body is still off the frame, do this is still all in the works ;)

I was thinking of using a plastic tank for water. Would be great if someone made a plastic tank that was safe for drinking water too.

The 77 fuel filler area is Large enough to incorporate a couple if not all these ideas behind the door. Don't get stuck with tunnel vision thinking thatyou only have one option because with the area available you could use a couple of ideas and still have space behind the door! ;D
