Can someone PLEASE help me. I just purchased my first Bronco. It is a 1966 U13 with a 3 speed and the 170 engine. VIN U13FL754559. When I purchased it the ignition switch was not in the dash. I purchased a new one, hooked it up and the battery cables get red hot and all related wires want to fry. I looked at a schematics for a 67 but it looks like I have a extra wire. so here it is. Yellow- Red Blue- Red Green to the plug that connects to the back of the switch. No problem. I then have a SINGLE Red Green wire with a round connector. Then a DOUBLE large Black and small Black set of wires to another round connector. What threads to the back of the switch? Also, on the side of the new switch is a flat connector that nothing appears to connect to. Thanks.

Post terminal: (these wires should have ring connectors)
Black-green=instrument power
Green-red=brake imbalance light power (66 may not have this light or wire)

Flat terminal:
Purple-white=brake imbalance light ground (66 may not have this light or wire)

The black wires could have been added by a PO. I would disconnect/insulate them until you get the short figured out.
