I awoke one Sunday to find My Tires flat, as well as my Buddy's tires. Neither of us had a clue who would do this.....

Marty that just sucks.... I can even fathom how evil the thought process has to be to even think up shit like that! What a dickless basturd!

F@ck that Prius lady..... I know good Prius people that are trying to better their situation and the thought of the bigger picture.....but most are from a planet that does not fit into the rules of the road or remotely any politeness....

And yes..... you NEVER f with another man car! That is a level of anger that I never want to come out of me! ;D

well, after alerting my neighbors...it's actually leaning towards my next door neighbor.
sigh.
one of my other neighbors mentioned that they saw him near my tires and looking around to check if the coast was clear. He's helped me innumerable times on everything from my Bronco to my home
he's a Vietnam vet and had a very tough time over there wounded, etcetera...and recently retired.but I think it's kind of like that syndrome mothers have they hurt their children to get attention, Munchausen by proxy ( autohousen? ) He offered me help and tools to fix it
I'm not going to accuse him but its all pointing to him. Even before we figured out it was the valves, he offered me a valve tightening tool out of nowhere.
Ah well....nothing to do about it but hope it doesn't happen again

and then what?
as I said up until now, he has been a very helpful neighbor that I've been living next door to for 20 years. How do you think that's going to play out with proof?
If it happens again,I'll deal with it...hopefully I won't have to.

You could take the video over to him and say "Care to explain this? After 20 years of living next to each other and helping each other out, why would you do this to my truck?" See where it goes from there... there might be some trivial thing you have been doing for 20 years that have finally pushed him over the edge.

Well, I guess maybe. But like I said, he was very helpful trying to fix my truck with me so I don't know, he was also actually vocal about being frustrated that he can't do what are used to be able to, blah blah blah.
Again, I just think he's feeling kind of useless and wants to be needed. If it happens again, I think I will confront him. Not a fun situation all around

If I were to catch someone jacking with my truck, long time neighbor or not,he would probably at a minimum take an ass whoopin if not worse.I am like you though,I would like to think it was someone else.

Marty,

I am humbled by your response to this man. Truly, you are his neighbor. I hope you don't have to go through this again. Maybe he needs some other project.

Best regards,

Ted

Just tell him you put up a video surveillance camera...... they even have those fake ones at HF for $5 if you want to really sell it, but I would tell him to keep his eyes open and tell him you have a mini camera pointed right at it in case anyone tries this again. ;)

Sorry to hear it Marty. I'd be livid with the neighbor, but you're a better judge of his intentions then the rest of us.

I like Buldozer's idea. If you really think it's your neighbor then plant the seed that you've set up video surveillance (whether you actually have or not) and hopefully he'll be too afraid to get caught to do it again.
