We are almost done with a restoration on my stock looking 70 halfcab. In order to retain the stock look, I am ordering one of these....

Radio

For a standard looking stereo with recent amenities, I am interested as well, for my fiberglass EB build.

I used Fusion marine stuff so it could handle the elements. The radio has am/fm, Sirus, and you can add an ipod docking station that is compatable up to an iphone 4.

They make such small everything now, seems to me they should make a car stereo that really wouldn't even have to mount into the dash. Maybe just clasp under the dash or something. I haven't found anything like it however.

Thanks!
I only filled in the screw holes for the dash pad because I knew I wasn't going back with it. I believe I missed the ones at the very end of the dash.

Mad, go to Crutchfield and start searching. You can select the options you want and the size (single or double din). Should fit in a dash if you cut it or in a console or you could always mock up something for under the dash. Plenty of radios to choose from, I spent about a month trying to figure out what to replace the one in the excursion with and that should be here tomorrow. In the end I called and talked with a tech and told him what I wanted it to do and he spent about half an hour on the phone with me researching the models and my options.

I no longer use CDs so I don't need that option. Smaller units is a plus because of the limited space behind the dash.

My dash does not have the radio slot so I am thinking about putting it in the console. I know that is not "in the dash". If I was going to mount it in the dash I would lean towards the very cool (evan if a little spendy) one that BGY is selling.

I saw that and liked it. I may get one for my green77 since it has the factory radio still in it. My yellow77 has a big hole in the dash.
