inner axle yoke bent

Bought new set of D44 Chromo axles w/Yukon superjoints from WH. Install of ujoints went ok til last piece. Inner long side ended up with 1 bent yoke, so couldn't get inner C clip into groove. Removed caps and long axle stub, Just need to straighten 1 slightly bent ear. Anybody ever have to fix a problem like this?
Thanks

Not off the top of my head. But I would not try, since those are new parts and should reasonably be expected to not be bent.;)

Give us a call as soon as you can and we'll send out another one to replace it.
A picture sent would be a good first step though, just to confirm. Especially if we are able to send one out before getting the bad one back.
Saves us the second guessing, and you the trouble of paying for one before getting credited back for the original.

If you decide that it's just to small an amount and want to take care of it yourself anyway (and thanks for that of course!) then I'm sure some here will have ideas about it.
Can you describe which way it's bent?
If outward, I think a good whack with a heavy implement-of-destruction would do the job quickly.
If inward, it might take some finesse with a long prybar to get the deed done.

But I'd be happier, at least initially, if you at least make a quick call or send an e-mail to clarify the problem.

Thanks!

Did you check for a rogue needle getting between the cap and the cross? Sometimes a needle gets out of place during inspection and assembly and tries to make your day more difficult.

Hope you get it straightened out.

I have the same WH Dana 44 chromoly axles and Yukon Super Joints.
It is nice piece of mind in the front end. I don't worry about snapping a front axle the way I used to.....

These are actually for a set of spares I carry on the trail. I'm currently running D44 chromos with ctm ujoints. The bfg red label krawlers tires have broken a couple hubs. Then a driver outer and inner stub, 760 ujoint on back up set, and f150 knuckle at our Lebc round up last month.

Yea....what you are running (CTM's) are notably stronger than....well...anything but those CV axles..,.

Kudos to Wild Horses! They'll be sending me a replacement axle as soon as back ordered batch shows up.
Thanks for the info Paul!
