folks, how in the hell do you install new stripping on the floor and still have the door able to fully shut without it sticking out 1 to 2 inches. And also, not having to slam it so hard?

should it be trimmed down? what are my options. TIA

i just did this and there was some door adjustment needed. i also snapped a couple hinge bolts in the process so be prepared for that. be patient and use a ton of liquid wrench. there are posts that cover door hinge removal/adjustment that can probably explain it better than i could but i will give it a quit rundown.

support the door with a jack, loosen the bolts a bit (you shouldnt have to actually remove the bolts for this and definitely dont remove them all at once or you will lose the backing plate), tap on them with a soft mallet or with hammer and a piece of wood. once the backing plate is loose (the door will shift when this happens) you can adjust it out (at least thats what i needed to do) and it will close easier. good luck!

Get the Metro Supersoft seals. They will be a little hard to close for a few days but after that they will close nice.
