I have an intermittent wiper switch I want to install in my 69 bronco and am having trouble . It is a stock ford switch from a later model truck and it has 6 wires where my original has 7 wires. I have tried to put a jumper wire across two terminals in all the different combinations I can think of but nothing will activate my washer motor when I press the knob in. I know my washer works with the old switch but I cannot get the right combination of wires jumped to make the new 6 wire switch work. Anybody have a remedy for this problem? The wipers work on low, high and intermittent just fine just no washer function.

On the backside of the black plug that plugs into the Bronco harness, you'll see one open slot. There should be a black or black/white wire next to it. Using your needle nose pliers, squeeze on the connector "pin" (actually a spade terminal) on the other side of the connector and pull it out the back side of the connector. Use your pliers and spread the spade terminal out a bit and then stick it into that original empty slot on the backside of the connector. Give it a tug or two to ensure it's locked in place. Your washer motor should now work correctly.

I think I am WAY off base as far as help but I am trying. When taking a 6th gen Ford truck intermittent wiper switch and adding it to a a different 6th gen Ford truck you need the governor/control box. And the plug and play red adapter cable.

Two different types of windshield wipers, two different wiper switches.
Two speed wiper switches have a low & high speed.
Intermittent (delay) wipers were optional on 1973/79 F100/350's and 1978/79 Bronco's. Intermittent is not another name for low speed!

Your post reminded me that I assumed the OP has the switch and the delay/control box assembly in hand when he was trying to wire things up!

Yes I do have the switch and delay box with connecting harness in hand. I will try to remove the wire and put it in open slot. The original harness on the truck has 7 terminals. The new harness I am plugging in has 6 terminals.

Toddz69 your info was absolutely correct. Took all of 5 minutes and now I have all functions of the new switch. Thanks for the help. Eb-nutt1 I am in Lanett, 45min to an hour away from lake martin I think. Haven't been in a long while.

So thankful for this post.....that washer circuit was driving me crazy with the 6 vs 7 wire setup. This fix worked perfectly!
