Is it possible to locate an old vehicle if you have a VIN number?

So I ended up talking with him.

Very nice guy.

Curious if anyone would be willing to give advice on a fair price for both parties as he did inicate he would be willing to sell the vehicle.

If so, please send me a message and I can explain what he told me regarding condition.

I am going to go see it this week as he has had it in storage for 20 years.

appreciate all the input!

thanks

Awesome this just keeps getting better!!

nice work.. :)

Update:

Thanks for your help.

I ended up hiring a Private Investigator and was able to track down the owner before the current owner. The previous owner was able to provide the name of the current owner.

I posted on his facebook without success but ultimately tracked down through his sister.

Waiting for him to reach out but I do know that he still owns the vehicle

Thanks

Was pretty cool taking a look at the vehicle and meeting the owner. He was a very nice guy. He even had the original book that came with the vehicle. I have attached a few of the pictures that I took.

Special thanks to Okie and eaglesnest for giving me some advice. People are so helpful on this forum! I have really enjoyed going down this rabbit hole.

Unsure if it will work out but we shall see.
Goes back to a quote that I am fond of.

AND LOTS OF MONEY the answer in my opinion! Looks like it needs a ton of rehab!

Unfortunately not a happy ending.
Owner wanted too much for it. Would have been a great project and story for the family but it doesn't sound like it is meant to be.

I told him to contact me if he had a change of heart on the price.

So I couldn't work a deal out with the owner of my wife's grandfathers 66 roadster but I ended up buying a different one.

Here a couple photos as it was loaded up to head to the place that is going to restore it.

Very early.

I have heard different thoughts on it. Sounds like at minimum first two days.

Just got picked up to get redone. It will be done for my 25th wedding anniversary so even though it won't be the one I initially tried to purchase for our anniversary we are happy to have found it. Drives great and not many miles on it.

Well technically I think you are correct.

I am not sure of the exact lineage
Here is what I believe occurred.
Arkansas---- Missouri ---- sold to Iowa for 6 months and then sold to me.

However the name on the title was Kris but I only worked with Jon from Iowa who said he was friends with Kris and he bought it from him.

I see thanks. It's in good hands with Gas Pig for sure.
