I've got a '68, with no PS/PB, but it has the double groove pulley. From what I can tell most everything is stock on the truck, would Ford of put a double pulley on a '68 or do you all think it was done later on? Just curious.

My 69 with no ps/pb has a single groove. Sounds like an addition, espcecially for 68; I don't think there were any pb/ps/ac options in 68.

If it had an AIR pump it would have the 2 groove crank pulley.

Pumps air into the hot exhaust so unburned stuff has enough air to finish combustion after the exhaust valve. A really simple emissions control device. Belt driven. Often refered to as a smog pump.

Every '66 289 Bronco I've owned or had in the shop & 2 groove pulley's , even the alternator so it's likely your '68 289 had them too .

My '69 had a triple groove crank pulley when I bought it back in '99. No air, no PS, no smog pump. Single water pump pulley with the triple crank. Always thought that was weird.
