Is Private Messaging gone?

I can't figure out how to send a private message on the new forum. Is that the "start conversation" feature under the users profile?

Yup, or hit the mail icon by your username on the top line. Can enter multiple names in either.

Correct. PM's are now called "Conversations" because they act more as a true back and forth conversation. They are more like texts, with both parts of the conversation kept together and clearly organized chronologically. They can also include multiple people. Others can be added or removed at any point in the conversation.
